Bolster Flooring - A brief History

The Bolster Group was originally established as a small family-run industrial flooring business by Billy Bolster in 1966, when he left his position as resident floor layer in Graves' Hardware, Waterford. As demand for his services grew, Billy was joined by his workmate in Graves', Billy Power, and later, his son, Ger Power. With a growing reputation for quality and speed of service, the business flourished. Mark O'Brien joined the team and went on to be the Contracts Manager for Bolster Flooring, a position that he still holds today.

National leaders in flooring

Bolster Flooring is one of the top ten industrial flooring contractors in Ireland and specialises in clean room vinyl floors, safety flooring, industrial carpet tiles and sheet carpet. In addition, Bolster Flooring is one of only nine premier installers for Altro Whiterock Wall Cladding, a hygienic PVC clean room sheet that is fixed to walls with epoxy adhesive.

Bolster Flooring has grown in success each year. In 1966, 1000 square metres of flooring was laid on average each year, and in 2006, in excess of 50,000 square metres has been laid. This establishes the company as one of the top three largest flooring contractors in Ireland.
